Nike Daybreak Type Shoes in Black and White. As a reimagined ‘70s style, this monochrome edition of the Nike Daybreak Type has been constructed with airy mesh uppers and durable suede overlays, complete with double top stitching and a shaped retro heel clip for protection in a key abrasion area. Contrasting white Swoosh tick emblems have been printed in white on either side of the foot with tips concealed by the heel clip, and above stylised ‘N.354’ lettering has been presented across a synthetic panel and references Nike’s experimental N.354 range which focuses on incorporating elements from prototype footwear designs. The lace up fastening helps to hold the foot comfortably in place and above the lightweight tongue wraps around the top of the foot with a two tone woven tongue below. Underfoot the split two tone rubber midsole helps to provide cushioning and below the iconic rubber Waffle sole adds traction and durability whilst giving a firm nod to Nike heritage style.
Carrying a rich history within an unassuming design, the Nike Daybreak Type was first released in the 1980’s as a continuation of the Nike footwear ‘Waffle family’ which were categorised with a distinctive tread pattern, inspired by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman’s own waffle iron. As a more breathable variation, the Nike Daybreak Type is recognised for the mesh uppers which allow you to mix and match with visible sock styling whilst reworked branding and an N.354 logo reflect both Nike’s history and current projects within footwear innovation.
